Did an NBC reporter just blame Trump for school shootings?

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will meet the press corps in a briefing set for 2:00 p.m. ET.

Jeff Flake of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of SC, and Democrat Dick Durbin of IL, was criticized by White House press secretary Sarah.

Trump has given Congress until March to come up with a plan to protect the almost 700,000 young people who had been protected from deportation and given the right to work legally in the country under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.

Democrats and even some Republicans have criticized the president for his approach to the immigration deal-making, saying they were looking for more concrete guidance from him about the contours of a bill he would sign.

Earlier Wednesday, South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham, one of almost two dozen senators trying to find a bipartisan immigration compromise, told Roll Call the group is merely trying to craft the best bill possible.

NBC reporter Peter Alexander had asked Sanders what the president did since October to prevent school shootings.

"The White House refused to engage in negotiations over the weekend", Schumer said Monday.

"If there is no wall, there is no DACA", Mr. Trump said.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has committed to trying to reach a deal on immigration and key budget issues by February 8, though Cornyn said Monday that "strikes me as highly hard".

He also wants an end to 'chain migration, ' a system that allows green card holders to sponsor large numbers of relatives for lawful admission into the U.S. "And I think we're never going to get there as long as we embrace concepts that can not possibly get 60 votes".

Trump called it an "incentive" for the immigrants, who largely have known no other country beside America, to work hard and do a "great job".

The White House spokeswoman also addressed an ad that Trump's re-election campaign put out over the weekend to hammer out a deal.

South Carolina's Sen. Lindsey Graham, a key Republican negotiator, called the White House's plan to release a framework "excellent", noting the importance of getting the White House's "input".

Sanders pointed to dozens of meetings since that list was sent - meetings to discuss the reforms and find a "bipartisan path forward" with Republican and Democrat leadership and rank and file members of the House and Senate.

"We've tried to crack down on crime throughout the country", she added. "Because then we will fail, and it will be on the other side of the aisle that made that happen". "Where you have a mountain, you don't build a wall", Trump said. "Because without his support, I don't think it would pass the House of Representatives", which has more conservative views on the topic.
