Jack Harrison joins Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season

Harrison only had two seasons under his belt at The Yankee Stadium but amassed an impressive 14 goals in 59 appearances, Harrison signed a three-year deal with The Citizens before being loaned to Tony Pulis' men and shared his delight to be back on home shores and desire to impress at The Riverside Stadium.

Stoke City had been hoping to strike a deal for the 21-year-old, who was actually born in the Potteries, before moving to America - where he has come through the football ranks and is now a first-team regular with New York City.

Harrison impressed since breaking through in the MLS and has also been of interest to Stoke City in the January window.

"I feel I've really improved working under him and playing regularly in the MLS", the winger proclaimed. "But now I'm looking forward to testing myself in England." . They immediately sent the Australian global on loan to Huddersfield, where he was named player of the season as they were promoted to the Premier League.

"Hopefully I can help them achieve that".

Middlesbrough are now eighth in the Championship and eyeing a play-off spot. Huddersfield bought Mooy for £8m last summer without him ever playing a game for Manchester City.

"It's sad to see Jack go but at the same time, we recognize this is an opportunity that he felt ready for and wanted", said Sporting Director Claudio Reyna.

Harrison's performances were recognised at worldwide level when he was handed a England U21 debut last October. He'd made it no secret that it's been his ultimate goal to play in the Premier League, most recently calling it a dream of his. "The Premier League is one of the top leagues there", he said.

New York City FC Head Coach, Patrick Viera, had nothing but praise for his now former player.
