KFC Says 'FCK' in UK Apology Ad

KFC agrees that a chicken restaurant without any chicken is "not ideal", apologising to angry customers about running out of its main ingredient in the United Kingdom.

KFC branches across Merseyside remained closed or without some items on the menu today after a nationwide delivery issue left many without chicken.

The eye-catching spread features a single image of the iconic chicken bucket, but instead of the usual KFC logo on the side, the bucket in the saucy ad reads "FCK".

It appears to have won back some unsatisfied customers, with Twitter users branding it "the best advert".

"We know that this might have inconvenienced some of you over the last few days, and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix - we're really sorry about that", the company said in a statement.

"This is soooo amusing!"

One described it as "the perfectly pitched apology", while another posted: "KFC" apology in the newspapers.

The cheeky apology was well received.

The ad said: "We're sorry".

Mick Rix, the GMB's national officer said the union warned KFC it would face supply issues if it switched to DHL.

A failure in its computer system meant that deliveries out of its vast hub and warehouse in Rugby went into meltdown.

The chain, which boasts a minimalist menu of just five items - The Box Combo, The 3-Finger Combo, The Caniac Combo, The Sandwich Combo, plus a kid's combo - is proving to be an encroaching threat for other fast food restaurants.
