Nintendo Switch To Receive 'Payday 2'

Nichole VegaFeb 24, 2018

Spending gains were driven by Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 hardware sales growth. However, it is worth mentioning that the numbers among Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 were extremely close this month, with the difference in revenue from the top console to the third one being of only 3%.

Payday 2 comes out on Friday in Europe, and thanks to some people getting early copies, many aspects of the game were revealed that players aren't happy about.

Confusion ballooned when a Reddit thread speculated about Switch getting an older version of the game.

Publisher Starbreeze confirmed to Polygon that the Switch version is running the Most Wanted update, which released in June, 2017 on PC.

Overkill confirms that Payday 2's port on Nintendo Switch is based on an old flavor of the game, not the latest PC (or console version) for that matter. PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One all performed well in the month of January.

Also, Starbreeze refrained from talking more about the updates or even failed to give a timeline for updates, leaving everyone hopeful that they would come up with more details as the game releases. Given their track Record, Overkill will most likely drop it like a hot potato just like the other console versions, ' read one Reddit post. Nintendo's support for the 3DS - which debuted in 2011 - is slowing down as it focuses on the home console/portable hybrid Switch, which has been a big success for Nintendo since launching in March 2017.

Over the last few days, the Payday 2 the Nintendo Switch subReddits have been having lots of discussions about the state of the upcoming game on Nintendo Switch. For Nintendo Switch, the title features 1080p resolution in TV mode and 720p in handheld mode.
