Ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the 2017 class by 247Sports, Porter played just two minutes in Missouri's season opener against Iowa State.

Tigers coach Cuonzo Martin told reporters Wednesday that Porter would not start against the victor of Thursday night's Georgia-Vanderbilt game. However, rumors began to surface in recent weeks that he could return to the court for the postseason, which Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin confirmed Wednesday.

Martin said Porter would not start but will play as long as he can and won't be under any restrictions. Porter Jr. later underwent surgery in Dallas.

In his only appearance for the Tigers, Porter scored two points and grabbed a pair of rebounds in two minutes before exiting the game.

The tournament begins on Wednesday, but the Tigers don't play until Thursday where they'll take on the victor of the Georgia-Vanderbilt game.

Last month, his doctor cleared him to return to all basketball related activities.

Michael Porter's back is good enough to be back in the lineup. "He practiced and said he was ready to go..."
