Putin heaps praise on Trump, pans U.S. politics

"I have no disappointment at all", Putin said when asked about the usa president.

He described the Western sanctions over Crimea and the insurgency in eastern Ukraine as part of "illegitimate and unfair" efforts to contain Russian Federation, adding that "we will win in the long run".

He described Trump, whom he met with past year on the sidelines of summits in Germany and Vietnam, a "balanced" man who grasps the issues and is a good listener.

Moscow's hopes for better ties with Washington have been dashed by the ongoing investigations into allegations of collusion between Trump's campaign and Russian Federation.

"We are a great power, and no one likes competition."When questioned about his announcement of new Russian Nuclear weapons last week, said that although he hopes the weapons will never need to be used, that Russia will retaliate if it comes under attack". He continued: "Those who serve us with poison will eventually swallow it and poison themselves".

"It's possible to negotiate with him, to search for compromises", Putin said during an interview with Russian state television, the Associated Press reported.

Talking about how he spent time talking to First Lady Melania Trump when he sat next to her during a dinner at July's G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, he said he may have exaggerated a bit. "If we achieve this. then, without a doubt, Russian Federation will retain its status a great power, including the defense capability of the state", Putin said in the documentary film "World Order 2018" by journalist Vladimir Solovyev. At a time when Russian Federation is seeking to expand its role in world affairs-often at the expense of USA initiatives-Putin called Washington's new, sprawling list of sanctions on Iran and North Korea "incompetent".

"We know that a woman's heart is the most loyal, her forgiveness the most powerful".

Russian Federation responded by annexing Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula. He added starkly: "Yes, it will mean a global catastrophe for mankind, for the entire world".

With a $4 trillion GDP in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), Russia has become the sixth-largest economy in the world after China, the United States, India, Japan and Germany.

"This is encouraging. After many months and even years of rough rhetoric of the US congressmen and senators addressed to Russia, including requirements to break ties, signs of "positive", instead of "negative" parliamentary pressure on the US President, not Russian, emerge", he wrote on his Facebook page.
