Super Smash Bros is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch this year

Rumors have been circulating for some time now about a Switch version of Smash Bros.

Nintendo had everyone on their feet after closing out the Nintendo Direct broadcast with a teaser for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. coming to the Nintendo Switch. Now, a new etching of those characters could make the starting roster a bit clearer.

When is Super Smash Bros. on the Switch Coming Out?

Another surprise announcement came in the form of PlayStation icon Crash Bandicoot, who'll be making a rare appearance on a Nintendo console when the Switch gets the N. Sane Trilogy on July 10.

However, only the Super Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii contains a non-Nintendo character, Solid Snake, which is originally from Konami's Metal Gear video game series.

While the core gameplay is likely to stay the same, we're also very curious to see the innovations for this sequel, as well as the inevitable guest characters beyond Nintendo's roster of characters. So after the latest game for Switch was announced, the famed director took to Twitter to ensure fans that he is indeed working on the next title.

Also featured in the trailer are Mario and Link. Except for the Wii U. The Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS are the stars of the show, with both new games and ports of popular ones. The trailer opened with what looked like an expansion of Splatoon 2, with an inkling boy and an inkling girl in the middle of a match.

The news follows last night's Nintendo Direct reveal that Undertale will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. eventually. Then all of a sudden the screen goes dark and in the squid kid's eye we see reflected the Smash Bros. logo.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole launches for Switch on April 24. For Wii U or an entirely new game. Hundreds of players are facing off in the two-day competition for more than $300,000 in prizes and the top few dozen players will get licenses to play in paid video-game competitions in the future.
