Pal Berezovsky fled to London in 2000 after he also fell out with Putin.

Glushkov came to the United Kingdom after being freed from prison and spoke out against Berezovsky's death claiming he never believed his friend died of natural causes.

The death of a 68-year-old Russian man in London is being investigated by counter-terrorism officers, Scotland Yard has said. It did not identify him by name.

Russian fugitive Nikolai Glushkov's, a close friend of deceased Putin critic Boris Berezovsky, was discovered dead Monday. An inquest failed to establish if he had committed suicide or died from foul play.

It is not yet known how he died but his death has not been linked to the Salisbury poisoning case, the Metropolitan police said.

Glushkov worked in the 1990s for the state airline Aeroflot and Berezovsky's LogoVAZ auto company, according to media reports.

Five years on, the same questions will be asked of his own death.

The victim is believed to be Nikolai Glushkov, who claimed political asylum in the United Kingdom after being convicted of fraud, the BBC reports.

Billionaire and business oligarch Berezovsky later ran afoul of the Kremlin when he publicly denounced Putin and brought a lawsuit against his ally, fellow billionaire Roman Abramovich.

He noted that a large number of Russian exiles including Berezovsky, and Berezovsky's close friend Alexander Litvinenko, had died under mysterious circumstances.

Nikolai Glushkov's home in New Malden. The U.K. has said it was "highly likely" Russian Federation was behind the poisoning, which left the pair in critical condition.

Glushkov has two grown-up children, Natasha and Dima, and an ex-wife who lives in Moscow.

May gave Russian Federation until the end of Tuesday to respond to her allegations. Last year, a Moscow court tried him in absentia for embezzlement from Aeroflot, the Russian court-reporting agency RAPSI reported.

As the fallout from the Skripal poisoning continued, Britain's media regulator, Ofcom, announced that Kremlin-backed news channel RT could lose its license to broadcast in the UK.

Britain has given Russia until midnight Tuesday to explain how a Russian-made nerve agent came to be used in an English city, or face retaliatory measures. If they do not respond, she said, the United Kingdom.
