Man Accused of Stabbing Woman in Columbia Multiple Times Arrested

She is repeatedly beaten with what seems to be a leather belt by a man in a green shirt and a jacket, a report on Hindustan Times said.

In a shocking incident, a woman was branded "characterless" and allegedly thrashed publicly after being tied to a tree on the order of a panchayat in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahar district, about 450 km from here.

The incident happened on March 10, local police confirmed on Thursday, according to Hindustan Times.

A Centralia woman was charged earlier this week after police said a fight with her teenage daughter turned violent.

A large crowd of men can be seen standing in a circle to watch the beating and some of them can even be heard berating the woman. "She did not inform her husband or others before she left", the SHO said.

She returned home last week.

The victim, a 31-year-old woman, remains hospitalized.

In a statement the police said "We found out about the incident yesterday". Footage of the grim punishment was posted online and spread quickly, which then led to the arrest of the woman's husband, Shaudan, and his son, Shravansinh.

Perhaps this should serve as a lesson to Kenyan women who like gossiping in salons and chamas about their husbands' bedroom prowess or weakness.

ASP Loveth Odaa, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview that the matter has not been reported to her office.

The savage punishment was carried out after a kangaroo court found her guilty of eloping with her boyfriend.
