Gianluigi Buffon made scary pre-match prediction about red card

Cristiano Ronaldo converted the spot-kick to send Zinedine Zidane's side through to the final four but it was not without its controversy and carnage as Buffon bowed out in Zidane-esque fashion.

Gianluigi Buffon was in no mood for a measured post-match interview following Juventus' heartbreaking defeat to Real Madrid. Various reports have suggested that this could be the final season for Buffon, who has been at Juventus since 2001.

But the fight shown from Juventus was incredible as Mario Mandzukic book-ended the first half with a brace before Blaise Matuidi restored parity.

Buffon saw the red mist and berated the official before being given his marching orders.

Gianluigi Buffon has admitted he could be playing his final Champions League game when Juventus take on Real Madrid in the quarter-final second leg on Wednesday.

After the match though he had some brutal words about the man in black saying, "The team gave its all, but a human being can not destroy dreams like that at the end of an extraordinary comeback on a dubious situation".

'I know the referee saw, it was certainly a dubious incident.

'Clearly, instead of a heart in his chest he has a garbage can. "He can't just destroy everything like that", Buffon continued.

He said, "Any professional footballer would aim to make their last Champions League appearances at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid".

He went on to say that "If a referee doesn't have the courage and personality to manage a game on the pitch, then he should sit in the stands alongside his wife and have some chips".

"Real Madrid deserved to go through over the two legs, I wish them the best and it has always been an honour for me to face this club, but objectively we at least deserved to go to extra time tonight".

"It's an issue of sensitivity", he said.

"We can not play with the hope that we change everything in the first 20 minutes", Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri said on Tuesday. It means you don't know where you are, what teams are facing off, what players are involved.
