We really need to see this through: Anthem confirmed for March 2019

BioWare will show more of "Anthem" to fans at EA Play in Hollywood June 9-11. In a community update on the Bioware Blog, Casey Hudson talks Anthem and the developer's "innovative" approach to storytelling in their upcoming game. This in tandem with the affirmations suggests Anthem should be akin to Bungie's deal with Activision over Destiny, and that BioWare will be working on the game (and the franchise) for quite some time after release.

Furthermore, the game is also expected to be featured at next month's EA Play event, so fans can tune in to that. Anthem will also be a "fundamentally social experience", said Wilson, building on the co-op gameplay footage revealed by the company last summer.

Jorgensen specifically says that "the game will be shipped in the last quarter of the year, and in the last month of that quarter", which is next March.

In a prepared statement, EA's Andrew Wilson hinted that players would be able to get their hands on the game through some sort of extended beta or Early Access campaign.

The rest of EA's pitch to investors was also full of interesting details, including a combined sales figure for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 of 103 million at the end of past year.

For Fiscal Year 2019, ending March 31, 2019, the publisher expects net revenue of approximately $5.600 billion.

"New IP is one the purest forms of innovation in our industry". So despite their very public problems with games like Star Wars: Battlefront II and Need For Speed Payback they still experienced an increase in business thanks to digital sales and evergreens like Federation Internationale de Football Association. A brand new idea combining the latest tech and a vision for something extraordinary. "It is fast, dangerous, attractive and unexpected", EA's Patrick Soderlund said at EA Play in June. Jorgensen went on to state that EA is still cautious about the launch of a new IP. "To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into FY19".
