Kristen Stewart goes barefoot at Cannes

Sugi star "Twilight" Kristen Stewart continues to amaze the behavior at the Cannes film festival. Plus, as most other people who've rocked heels at an event before can understand, sometimes shoes get uncomfortable and are hard to move in.

Lebanese actress Manal Issa raised a sign which said "stop the attack on Gaza" while walking the Cannes Film festival red carpet to draw attention to the Israeli army's killing of Palestinians on the Gaza border a day earlier.

The Cesar-winning actress also stormed the red carpet in another way when she teamed up with Blanchett and DuVernay on Saturday for a march highlighting the lack of female directors included at Cannes over the years.

Her action had apparently not been sanctioned by the festival organisers. A year ago the actress made a statement about how she felt the dress code of women needing to wear heels was actually sexist.

"You just can't ask me to do something that you're not asked to do man".

Kristen Stewart walked barefoot on the red carpet. That same year, Footwear News reported that Kristen Stewart removed another pair of Louboutin pumps and walked across a lawn during a Cannes photo call.

Del Toro attended the film festival as president of the jury for the Un Certain Regard (A Certain Glance) section, aimed at showcasing different points of view, visions, styles, and non-traditional narratives, selected from "cultures near and far".

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film received applause "a half-dozen" times throughout the screening and a rapturous response at the end.
