Rapper TI arrested trying to gain access to his own home

Henry County Deputy Police Chief Mike Ireland told the news agency that the "Live Your Life" rapper, 37, was taken into custody around 4:30 a.m. after arguing with a security guard. The community guard refused to let him in after Harris found he had forgotten his key.

According to Tip, his arrest is ultimately a result of calling out his gated community's security guard for sleeping on the job. The guard says the rapper was yelling profanity at him and behaving badly.

According to the police report, T.I. argued with the security guard when he discovered he was asleep on the job, was eventually let in, then drove home to park his auto and walked back to get the security guard's name. Fortunately T.I. put the arrest behind him quickly as he was able to make it from Henry County jail straight home for Major's birthday party.

Attorney Steve Sadow said in a statement that when T.I. arrived at the guardhouse at his community outside Atlanta early Wednesday, it took "some time to wake up the sleeping guard".

Tip is planning to pursue legal action against his Homeowner's Association for the fight he had with the security guard and insists the guard was the aggressor. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry.

T.I. was arrested as well, but has since posted bail.

Here is the full statement. He was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness before being released on bond.

When officers questioned T.I. further about why he wanted the guard to come out of the shack, he said it was so he could explain "who he was". After a while, T.I. and his friend drove off.

T.I. says his early morning arrest was completely B.S. and believes he got locked up by white police officers for being an affluent African-American celebrity.

A year ago, the rapper said he only planned to release about two or three more albums, telling The Associated Press in an interview that it was "definitely time to transition". The guard refused entry. "Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police".

Sadow claims police did not want to hear from T.I.'s side and arrested his client.

T.I. recently tried to talk some sense into Kanye West on the latter's "Ye vs. the People".
