Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid to tell forward to find a buyer

Grant SmithJun 08, 2018

Recall that Ronaldo hinted after Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League final that this could be his final season in the Spanish capital.

Isco has said that Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Real Madrid is in "his own hands" amid continued speculation that he could try and force an exit this summer.

Asensio, 22, said of the Frenchman: "What Zidane did took us all a little by surprise, but my experience with him has been very good".

According to Record, Ronaldo has made the "irreversible" decision to call time on his nine-year stint at Madrid and the Portuguese forward will now look for a new club with England, France and Italy named as potential destinations.

Madrid president Florentino Perez has often pointed to Ronaldo's current contract running until June 2021 as evidence that the Portugal captain has a long term commitment to the club. "He gave me them".

According to another report, Ronaldo became more unhappy after his agent Jorge Mendes met with the club on Wednesday.

His move above Ronaldo comes after he signed a new contract at the Camp Nou, with Brazil star Neymar (£67.2 million) now in fifth place following his world-record move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

In a way this is a fairly reasonable assumption, Neymar is seven years his junior, but Ronaldo is probably afraid the 26-year-old will replace him as the main man at the Bernabeu sooner rather than later.

The left-back also talked about whether Neymar can be Ronaldo's successor.

Jorge Mendes has been contacted by the Portugal worldwide - who is now training with his compatriots ahead of this summer's World Cup.
