E3 2018: EA Announces Origin Access Premier

Nichole VegaJun 12, 2018

The service will launch this summer for $14.99 per month, or $99.99 a year.

Through Origin Access Premier, users will be able to enjoy full access to new Electronic Arts releases on PC before their official release dates, including Anthem, Battlefield V, Federation Internationale de Football Association 19, and Madden NFL 19. Premier members get access to a release five days before launch as long as they are members. This means, you won't have to download games on your PC or wonder if your PC is capable enough to handle new games.

It all sounds very similar to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass, which offers access to many of that consoles' titles for $9.99/month. You can also get a seven-day free trial for Origin Access from now until June 17.

The major benefit of Premier is the ability to access brand-new EA games ahead of their actual release date.

For fiscal year 2018, EA reported GAAP net revenue of $5.2 billion and more than 300 million registered players around the world. The publisher also announced a separate streaming service but shared no additional details. If you are not familiar with the Origin Access program, it allows players to access over 100 games from the Origin Vault. Both services give gamers a chance to play try out new games before anyone else, play a number of other older games, and save 10% on purchases of full versions of EA games. No limited time trials. Dive into the action starting February 15, 2019 for Origin Access Premier members.

As you may expect, the title comes with a standard edition and a Hall of Fame edition featuring Terrell Owens.
