Square Enix E3 2018: The Five Biggest Announcements

Nichole VegaJun 12, 2018

Well, Square Enix just wrapped up a short and uneventful E3 press conference that really seemed to phone it in. But the livestream did include a reveal for a brand new PlatinumGames title called Babylon's Fall.

The Quiet Man is in development for PlayStation 4 and PC. A Square Enix representative told IGN that the planned Nintendo Switch version for the West will not ship this year, and it may ship "much later". We got a glimpse at the story in Dragon Quest XI and the kinds of battles and skirmishes we can expect from the latest entry in the storied series. Just watch Square Enix's brief 30-minute E3 video full of admittedly cool trailers we've already seen at other events, along with Keith David.

A live action trailer seamlessly morphs into an a CG fight sequence in the teaser for "The Quiet Man". Perhaps we'll see this game at Sony's showcase tonight, or maybe not even until after Shadow of the Tomb Raider is out. They also spent a lot of time with close-ups of the tornadoes that will be blaring around in Just Cause 4, which is getting a December release date.

Meanwhile, from Japan we got a big new trailer for Dragon Quest 11 finally coming over to America on PlayStation 4 and Steam this September. Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter: World are joining up to make two groups of nerds incredibly happy.

After an exciting day full of announcements from Microsoft and Bethesda on Sunday, Square Enix is kicking things off on Monday with its first E3 press conference since 2015.
