Navarro apologizes for harsh comment about Canada PM

President Trump said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had "learned" from his decision to criticize USA trade policy even as he downplayed tensions that erupted after a recent meeting with allies. After facing harsh attacks on his character and leadership from the US president and his aides, Americans are coming out online to let the Canadian PM know that their president doesn't speak for them. They don't get to forget about that, because it's a big part of the job. Mr Trump said the move would protect domestic producers that were vital to USA security. However, she suggested the government should look at means of increasing trade and co-operation with other Atlantic Canadian provinces, in light of the looming trade spat with the U.S.

"If Kim Jong Un reverses his commitments. then what the president said about Justin Trudeau will be repeated 10-fold about Kim Jong Un", Cotton told the Hugh Hewitt syndicated radio talk show.

The U.S. President ratcheted up the Canuck-baiting Tuesday.

Navarro said Sunday that his sentiment came "right from Air Force One".

Trudeau said at the press conference that Canada would not be "pushed around" by the United States.

"I actually like Justin, you know, I think he's good, I like him, but he shouldn't have done that", Trump said.

Trump was furious after Trudeau had said at the end of a contentious economic summit in Quebec that he wouldn't let Canada be pushed around in trade relations with the United States.

The insults stemmed from a closing G7 press conference on Saturday in which Trudeau called United States steel and aluminum tariffs "insulting" and pledged to proceed with previously announced retaliatory tariffs.

MS officials apparently have few concerns about a potential trade war between the United States and Canada, which is the largest trading partner for not only the USA, but also the state.

"I want to pay a particular tribute to Prime Minister Trudeau for his leadership and skilful chairing, which enabled us after two days of negotiation between leaders to agree actions and a shared approach on some of the most pressing challenges facing the worldwide community and our citizens", she said. But asked about the rhetoric coming from the White House, Trudeau stood firm on his commitment to first safeguard Canadian interests.

Trudeau and Trump clashed Saturday at the close of a meeting of the Group of Seven industrial countries. He forced the Canadian PM to react. This move was not left unanswered by the European Union officials who stated that will fight back with tariffs on United States goods and a case at the World Trade Organisation in Geneva.

"The new Trudeau has arrived", one analyst told Radio Canada on Monday, noting that thanks to the public and political support building behind him, "Trudeau can think of himself as the great defender of his country and that he can don the cape of "Captain Canada" which served his farther so well". The motion acknowledges the close and mutually beneficial relationship between Canada and the United States, but says they "strongly oppose" the "illegitimate tariffs" now imposed by our southern neighbours. It's just obvious Canadian politics.

"[Trudeau] really kind of stabbed us in the back", Kudlow said.
