More rain, but sun returns later this week — Portland weather Sunday

Irene MckinneyJun 14, 2018

More storms roll in later Sunday and Monday, with cooler air to follow. An isolated storm can't be ruled out this afternoon mainly to the southeast along I-44.

The strong to severe storms will be moving through the mountains this afternoon into the evening hours. We will not be completely rain free, but more of us than not should be able to get out and get some outdoor chores taken care of. Highs for the week will be mostly in the mid to upper 80's with lows in the upper 60's. Heavy rain and flooding is once again a concern with any storms that develop heading into the evening.

Next week finally brings some relief with more seasonal temperatures with storm chances returning late Monday into Tuesday.

Right now, Father's Day weekend looks fairly typical for June with AM sun and afternoon showers and storms. The rain chance decreases to 30 percent tonight.

Today: Mostly sunny, windy and hot. Highs will be in the low 90s.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Tonight: Mostly clear to partly cloudy. Lows will drop in the mid 60s to low 70s with a northeast wind around 5 miles per hour. Beyond Wednesday, rain chances become minimal as high temperatures creep back into the 90s for the second half of the week.
