In order to install the iOS 12 Public Beta, either login or sign up to the Apple Beta Software Program. Once that's done, just go to Settings General Software Update, and you should be able to start downloading iOS 12 Public Beta.

Announced at the beginning of June, packed with new features, speed improvements and tools to help prevent smartphone addiction, iOS 12 is shaping up to be one of the best iOS updates in the last few years. All of those devices are turning five-years-old this year, so to see Apple supporting them with new iOS releases in 2018 is definitely an exciting thing.

But because we're looking at unfinished software, you can expect specific bugs and stability issues to affect your overall experience.

Apple has released the first iOS 12 public beta for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

If you ever wish to roll back iOS 12 beta you can do so by unenrolling it through this link.

In case if during the testing phase you would like to move back to the public release on your Apple device, Apple has provided an option to un-enrol from the public beta.

If you have a spare iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, then you can easily download the public beta and try it now for free. But if you do want to download it on your main device, do not forget to back it up first - you do not want to lose your precious data.

Here's a quick rundown of what's new in iOS 12. It'll also give you new controls to let you set time limits on your app usage and prevent notifications from overwhelming your life during certain periods of the day. Apple's also revamped the social side of photos, and will make suggestions about people you may want to send your snapshots to, based on who's in the pictures. All iPhone users can try out Apple's new "Measure" app, with augmented reality technology to estimate the length of things within the camera's view.
