England fans 'dare to dream' after World Cup win over Sweden

Most fans though will be crowding around the big screens again on Wednesday, perhaps singing - and maybe even believing -the 1996 anthem by the Lightning Seeds pop band, "Football's Coming Home".

England manager Gareth Southgate was understandably delighted after his side sealed their place in a World Cup semi-final for the first time since 1990.

The last time England reached the last four of a World Cup, their heroes in the win over Sweden - goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and goalscorers Harry Maguire and Dele Alli - weren't even born.

All eyes will be on the stunning Samara Arena this Saturday as the Three Lions line-up in a hotly-anticipated World Cup quarter-final against fellow surprise package Sweden. To get through the two games we had this week, we needed all of that because we're not the finished article.

Clearly feeling the heat, Jamie Vardy's wife Rebekah looked nothing short of sensational in a sexy white mini-skirt which she teamed with an England shirt, showing her pride for her team as she cheered on Jamie from the sidelines.

"Always nice to score, especially on occasions like this".

In the build up to the game, social media was flooded with memes of Maguire talking to his girlfriend following England's win over Colombia with captions differing based on his relaxed stance. "[Didier] Deschamps is able to make them play in a good way and it's a pleasure to watch their games".

Though the song is more than 20 years old, United Kingdom soccer fans still use "It's coming home" as a rallying cry, echoing through stadiums and social media networks alike.
