Britain's Prince Louis to be christened in private ceremony

Prince William and his wife Catherine's third child Prince Louis has been christened in the Chapel Royal at St. James' Palace.

Britain's Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, leave the christening of Prince Louis at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace, London on July 9, 2018.

And appropriate for the occasion, mother Kate Middleton chose to bring back a christening staple: a white dress by Alexander McQueen - the very designer she wore to both Prince George's and Princess Charlotte's christenings, as well as her 2011 wedding to Prince William.

Little Louis wore a frilly cream royal christening gown which was a replica of the gown originally made for Queen Victoria's oldest daughter in 1841.

The monarch was due to return to London on Monday before a busy schedule of events including a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday at her Windsor Castle home.

Prince Louis, born April 23, is the youngest child of Prince William and the former Kate Middleton.

Meghan and Harry will also meet with young Irish locals at a coding workshop at DogPatch Labs, a co-working space for technology start-ups.

Prince Charles and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall arrive for the christening service.

THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex will arrive in Dublin today for their first official royal engagement overseas as a married couple. Kate looked radiant as she pushed the vintage Millson pram that her grandmother-in-law the Queen used in the 1950s for her sons Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.

And this is not the first time Prince George's traditional style has been raising issues as Princess Charlotte's brother has become a bit of an icon. She is the wife of James Meade, who is one of Princess Charlotte's godfathers. Following the service at Westminster, a royal flypast took place over Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Sussex was accompanied by her husband Prince Harry to christening of their nephew Prince Louis. Older brother Prince George walked in holding Prince William's other hand, while Duchess Kate carried their baby brother in his heirloom lace christening gown.
