George Clooney hospitalized after accident while riding a motorcycle

Clooney said a auto turned in front of him and he hit it head-on, smashing the windshield, CNN reported.

His rep confirmed the accident to "Extra", saying, "George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital".

Imagine getting into a auto accident and realizing the person operating the other vehicle was the generous and handsome George Clooney.

The accident occurred on the Italian island of Sardinia where Clooney is filming a miniseries based on Joseph Heller's book "Catch 22". "He fell. The auto driver called an ambulance".

He was joined by wife Amal Clooney and it has been reported that the pair left the hospital together in a private auto. A photo of a Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon with a smashed windshield and a nearby scooter would seem to suggest that Clooney hit the windshield in the impact.

It's not just the Clooneys spending the summer in Italy, George's parents and Amal's mum were also seen arriving on separate flights.

It is understood he was rushed to Saint John II Hospital in Olbia with minor injuries but has since been discharged from ER. According to ABC News, he has a slight contusion on his knee.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine", Clooney spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email.

He was said to be travelling 60mph at the time when the vehicle reportedly changed direction suddenly and collided with the bike.
