Meghan Markle Goes for Green at Prince Louis’ Christening

Irene MckinneyJul 11, 2018

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are carrying out their first joint engagement to the Republic of Ireland, with a two-day visit to Dublin.

This is only the second time Markle has worn colour since her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry, the first being at a reception last Thursday, for which she chose a yellow Brandon Maxwell dress.

"Meghan is known for wearing her hair in a looser and more relaxed style, but her hair today is much sleeker and more elegant, with a very tight ballerina-style knot in place of her usual messy bun". The royals will see a number of traditional Gaelic sports being played, such as hurling, camogie and rounders, as well as meeting the players.

Harry and Meghan will "meet the people of Dublin and visit organisations which are central to Irish life".

Even before leaving for Ireland, it has been a busy week for the newlyweds.

The Duchess of Sussex tried out a new colour in her royal wardrobe.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have touched down in Dublin for their two-day visit having coming straight from Kensington Palace where they celebrated 100 years of the RAF.

After the brief speech, the Queen joined the rest of the royals up on the palace balcony to watch nearly 100 aircraft, from Second World War Spitfires to the newest stealth fighter jet, fly over the palace. Prince William and Prince Harry were decked out in their military finest.

They joined Queen Elizabeth and other members of the royal family early Tuesday morning for the centenary celebration of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

Tourists can follow in Harry and Meghan's footsteps by visiting the GAA museum and taking a stadium tour.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev. Justin Welby, presided over Louis' christening, just as he did for Meghan's baptism and confirmation.
