Oddsmakers believe Raptors are favorites to land Kawhi Leonard

Grant SmithJul 13, 2018

The Sixers could offer a combination of young players and drafts picks to the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard.

The Kawhi Leonard trade rumors have simmered down a bit the past week or so since the top National Basketball Association free agents signed new deals.

Among the teams reportedly angling to make a trade with the Spurs were the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers, with the Los Angeles Lakers also linked to the star. It's hard to say how much all of this means, as the Raptors front office typically likes to keep things close to their chest until they have an announcement to make, and the rumors have abounded with the Leonard situation, so it could simply be trying to keep the story moving.

According to Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, the Raptors have "generated buzz" in the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes.

One of the suitors appears to be the Toronto Raptors, who are clearly interested in changing the mix after seeing their season end the past two years with series sweeps at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Leonard, one of the best all-around players in the NBA, wants out of San Antonio after the 27-year-old former NBA Finals MVP accused the Spurs of mishandling a quadriceps injury that limited him to just nine games last season.

According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, it is believed that the Sixers would have a hard time getting Buford to leave San Antonio for Philly.

Updated odds on which team Kawhi Leonard will play for next season.

It may not be ideal for the Spurs, but it's one that would get the deal done. It has only been a few months, but it seems like this saga has been brewing for a billion years. If so, where's he headed-the Lakers, Clippers, or Sixers?
