Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish 'not for sale at any price'

Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham have shown bravery by declining to sign any players this summer and focusing instead on retaining their top stars at a time when the club is investing heavily in their infrastructure.

"We have a very good squad, we have very good players and it is not easy to add players that improve that", Pochettino said. That is true, don't believe in £400m, that is the truth.

"You need to respect all the opinions but of course we are a club that our decision was not to sign, (even though) it is the fashion to sign or because we are the only club in Europe that has not signed players".

"I don't feel the panic in football". Then with Brexit it's worse because the cost is 30 per cent more.

'I am happy to keep all the squad together, there were many rumours during the summer about players out, ' he said. They are Tottenham players and always they were in my plans.

So six of Tottenham's fringe players have been ruled out but Pochettino is also sweating on the fitness of several of his first team regulars after many returned back late to pre-season following their exploits at the World Cup.

Sources told ESPN FC that Grealish is open to the idea of a move to Tottenham as he wants to play in the Premier League and the Champions League.

"Until you finish the game you can't say it's the end".

"And I think that was a great job from the club to keep the best player and keep the manager".

"If we are happy with our squad and can not improve our squad, sometimes it's better to keep our squad together".

"It's a massive challenge for us to try to deliver the best tools for them to get fit and then to prepare them for the whole season, not only for one, two or three games or for one month".

The Scotland global was a key man during a loan spell at Villa Park last season, but as the Villans hit financial difficulty early this summer, they were unable to put anything in place that allowed them to keep the playmaker.
