Sergio Ramos Criticizes Jurgen Klopp as UCL Final Row Continues

Grant SmithAug 16, 2018

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has once again discussed claims that he intentionally hurt African superstar Mohamed Salah in last season's UEFA Champions League final, and seemingly mocked Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in the process.

The player said Klopp was trying to find an excuse for loosing the final after having lost six out of seven finals.

Asked for a response, Ramos told reporters: "I have given my opinion on the matter".

It was also revealed that the 32-year-old had an altercation with goalkeeper, Loris Karius who later was deemed to have suffered a concussion during the game. It's not the first final [Klopp] has lost, he should stick to his own business.

Klopp and Ramos began their battle of words following Liverpool's somewhat embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Real in last season's Champions League final.

His latest comments about Klopp earlier this week, where he mocked his records in finals, only angered Liverpool fans further.

"Klopp had already branded Ramos "brutal" and "ruthless" in the past, and on 10 August he renewed his attack on the Spaniard, saying that he doesn't share Ramos" attitude to football.

Ramos, meanwhile, has won four Champions Leagues, La Liga four times, the 2010 World Cup and two European Championship titles with Spain.

Despite his avowed wish not to dip into the well-chewed over topic once more at the beginning of this new campaign, Ramos fired an arrow in the direction of Merseyside and the German coach.

'We can fight with any team, we have signed very strong and I hope we keep growing'. "I've voted for him as one of the three best coaches of the year, so that he calms down a bit".

"It was ruthless. I don't think Mo would have always got injured in that situation, this time it was unlucky, but it is an experience that we can not have".
