Delayed Nintendo Direct Presentation Gets A New Date

The start date for the online service was presumably going to be announced last week during the planned Nintendo Direct, but the presentation was cancelled following a major natural disaster in Japan. The support site says people have until 5pm PT/7pm CT/8pm ET on September 18, 2018 to unlink an account ahead of the firmware update.

Nintendo has announced that the Switch's online service will launch in the USA on September 18 and in the United Kingdom on September 19. Today, Nintendo detailed the firmware update that's coming along with the Switch Online launch, and it's making some changes that Switch owners should definitely know about. 3, The Legend of Zelda and Dr. Mario, with newly-added online multiplayer, with Nintendo promising that 20 NES games will be available at launch. For individual memberships, one, three and 12-month subscriptions will cost $3.99, $7.99 and $19.99, respectively.

Nintendo revealed this morning that its next Nintendo Direct presentation has been rescheduled for tomorrow, September 13.

The news came as part of a simple update straight from Nintendo, tucked within the announcement of the new date and time for the next Nintendo Direct video release on YouTube. There will also be cloud-based saves.
