Turkish paper names 15 Saudis in Khashoggi case

Turkey blames Saudi Arabia for Khashoggi's disappearance and affirms the writer never left the consulate.

The US and the United Kingdom have both called on the Saudi government to step up its investigation into the disappearance.

Saudi Arabia remained silent as the images, though not offering definitive proof about Khashoggi's fate, played across television networks in Turkey and around the world.

During an October 9 interview with CNN's Don Lemon, Boot was extremely critical of Trump's anemic response to Khashoggi's disappearance-declaring, "This administration can not sweep this under the rug".

"We're demanding everything. We want to see what's going on there". It's a very serious situation for us and for this White House. He's got a vision for the country that I think is extraordinary for a young leader. Investigators are also zooming in on a vehicle seen entering and leaving the building after Khashoggi went inside.

Iran has warned that if it can not sell its oil due to U.S. pressure, then no other regional country will be allowed to do so either, threatening to block the Strait of Hormuz.

Saudi whistle-blower Mujtahid, who is believed to be a member of or have a well-connected source in the royal family, underlined that Turkey's investigations into the death of prominent journalist Jamal Khashoggi would suffice to prove the Al-Saud's crimes and overthrow Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

All three officials pressed MBS, as the Crown Prince is known, for more details and urged his government to support a transparent investigation, Sanders added.

In Istanbul, Khashoggi met his fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, a PhD student who had met Khashoggi at a seminar. It was not clear whether the Saudis meant to arrest and interrogate Khashoggi or to kill him, or if the United States warned Khashoggi that he was a target, this person said.

But she also implored "President Trump and first lady Melania Trump to help shed light on Jamal's disappearance".

Turkey's private NTV news channel identified one member of the alleged 15-member team as the head of a Saudi forensic science agency. Local media claim the men are part of a 15-strong hit squad, sent by Saudi Arabia, which includes special forces officers, intelligence officials and a forensics expert.

Khashoggi had first left Saudi Arabia previous year, saying he feared retribution for his criticism of Saudi policy in the Yemen war and its crackdown on dissent.

Jeremy Hunt, Britain's Foreign Secretary, met with the Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom on Tuesday "to seek urgent answers over Jamal Khashoggi".

"If there was any truth to the allegations of wrongdoing by the Saudi government it would be devastating to the US-Saudi relationship and there will be a heavy price to be paid - economically and otherwise", Graham wrote on Twitter. According to CNN's Manu Raju, Corker said he was told that no such video exists, because the security feed only provides a live feed, with no recordings made.

"And so to me it feels very much like some nefarious activity has occurred by them", Corker added, according to The Beast. "But I don't want to rush to judgment", Corker said on Tuesday.

Wednesday's Turkish media reports were the most detailed accounts yet of what they say is the Turkish government's investigation into Khashoggi's disappearance.

The Sabah newspaper, which is similarly close to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, published images of what it referred to as the "assassination squad" apparently taken at passport control.

It did not say how it obtained the pictures and data.

A surveillance video image surfaced Tuesday showing Khashoggi walking into the consulate in Istanbul's upscale 4th Levent neighborhood. Both hotels declined to comment. Some of those men were later transported in a tinted van to the home of the Saudi consul general about two hours later, and then all of them left the country on planes departing to Cairo and Dubai. The footage shows Khashoggi entering the consulate on October 2.
