Irene MckinneyOct 12, 2018

Which brings us to Wednesday, when TMZ reported Gomez was hospitalized twice in the past two weeks, after having experienced an "emotional breakdown". Gomez was rushed to hospital after she appeared "despondent and emotional", with a family member driving her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA.

She is now being treated at a psychiatric facility on the east coast, according to TMZ.

The Wolves singer has had a tough few months, after opening up about her life-saving kidney transplant, at the end of a year ago.

According to TMZ, the first incident occurred in the last week of September at the star's home in Studio City, California.

A source confirmed to UsWeekly Selena "is now resting and getting treatment for a series of panic attacks related to ongoing medical issues".

Though it was unclear at the time what caused her to receive help, she later explained that it was her newfound lupus diagnosis and chemotherapy treatments that made her step away from the limelight.

News of Gomez's hospitalization came just after the singer opened up about her struggles with anxiety and depression. That was when she apparently tried to rip the IVs out of her arm and had a "meltdown". There has been a virtual blackout of information regarding Selena for several weeks. "Kindness and encouragement only for a bit!"

'So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering.

"Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings".

In addition to still being anxious about her best friend, the source told Radar tonight, she is still reeling over ex-boyfriend Bieber's quickie engagement and marriage to Hailey Baldwin just months after their split.
