Ariana Grande thanks her exes - by name - in new single

On Saturday night, Pete Davidson performed on Saturday Night Live, discussing the upcoming mid-term elections in the U.S., when he briefly brought up to topic of his ex-fiance, Ariana Grande. Davidson gets a mention in the song along with her late ex Mac Miller, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick. Grande and Davidson had a whirlwind romance that included matching tattoos and an engagement.

The rest of the song takes a less honest tone, as she sings, "Thank u, next / Thank u, next / Thank u, next / I'm so (expletive) grateful for my ex".

The new track arrives just three months after Grande's most recent album, Sweetener. The "God Is a Woman" singer released the track Saturday night, right before Saturday Night Live aired.

When Davidson appeared on Weekend Update he made an early reference to the breakup, saying that he started paying attention to the midterms "after I had to move back in with my mom". Later on, he took on a more serious, yet gentle tone, adding, "The last thing I will say is I know some of you are curious about the breakup".

"For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh", Grande tweeted.

Unsurprisingly, fans have been going insane over the track and have thanked the "Sweetener" star for providing them with the ultimate break-up song. "Thank you, next / Thank you, next / Thank you, next / I'm so f-in' grateful for my ex".

If that's the case, then tonight she shared what might be the first new taste of that record.

"Thank U, Next" is an absolute bop!
