CNN Reporter Jim Acosta Berated By Donald Trump & Suspended From White House

Howard TerryNov 10, 2018

The sparring started after Acosta asked Trump about the caravan of migrants heading from Latin America to the southern USA border.

"As you know, Mr. President, the caravan was not an invasion". He expressed annoyance at the types of questions that are asked, the way that they are asked, and what reporters have said about him, i.e. their type of coverage.

"I don't think he's a smart person, but he's got a loud voice", Trump added. In fact, she asked the most pertinent question of the day.

"That's enough. That's enough ..." Every time Trump engages pugnaciously with a reporter, he throws red meat to his base. You are a rude, awful person.

At the conference Trump, when asked if he had "demonized immigrants" during the midterms campaign, replied: "No, I want them to come into the country".

And Acosta has been one of the more visible thorns in the side of the White House. Acosta was trying to ask the president a question when Trump moved on to the next journalist and an intern tried to take away the microphone from Acosta, who continued talking.

CNN Vice President of Communications and Digital Partnership Matt Dornic said it was "absolutely shameful" that Sanders had released a "doctored" video. She was simply trying to do her job, while Acosta hung onto the mic and would not hand it over.

The White House is standing its ground, and, in a statement on Thursday, Sanders said that she stands by her previous position.

Since Sanders shared the video, #FireSanders has started to pick up steam on Twitter. When outside the infamous presidential building, Trump stopped to take reporters' questions about the removal of Jeff Sessions and the appointment of Matthew Whitaker to the position of attorney general.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Friday, Trump launched a tirade targeted at Acosta, calling him "unprofessional" and threatening others with having their credentials revoked.

"He does this with everybody". "She gets publicity, and then she gets a pay raise". You know, he gets paid to burst in. "When you are in the White House, this is a very sacred place to me, a very special place. But it could be others also".

"As far as I am concerned, I haven't made that decision". The White House News Photographers Association has called the footage "deceptive, dangerous, and unethical", and of course, if true, such a manipulation would be an egregious violation of governmental and journalistic practices. "Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately because you can see for yourself what it is, perception is reality with this president".

Trump also cast doubt on the stated rationale for stripping Acosta's credential.

Today, Donald Trump called White House correspondent, April Ryan, a "loser" and also insulted CNN's, Abby Phillip.
