Take flight with the new trailer for Captain Marvel

It will also be the film that links Avengers: Infinity War and the still to be named Avengers 4 film that launches a few months after it. Returning to Earth could put the planet in jeopardy as the Kree are not exactly the friendliest humanoid species in the cosmos.

The trailer also offers a bit of insight into the Kree-Skrull war, a major event in the Marvel Comics that will unfold in this superhero adventure, set in the year 1995.

This is also the first time we get to see Jude Law's mysterious character speak. She's been struck by some weapon that emits some blue, crackling energy and lies helpless on the ground as someone in a green outfit approaches her.

Fans of the comic book version of the character appear thrilled with the movie's storyline and origin story for the character, especially after the CAPTAIN MARVEL trailer 2 drop! And with this taking place largely in the 1980s - with CGI-young Samuel L. Jackson looking fierce as Agent Nick Fury - we can only imagine how it could reconfigure much of what we've already seen.

Captain Marvel seems able to put on or remove her helmet at will, which she seems to use for space and underwater combat. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past.

Danvers is haunted by flashes of her past life on Earth and a sense of duty to protect the planet. "And you're a Kree", Fury asks, "a race of noble warriors?" It's something she will obviously discover through the course of Captain Marvel, while confronting the Skrull danger led by Talos (Ben Mendelsohn).

Captain Marvel, a prequel of sorts to Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor, hits theatres in early March. Check out the second trailer here below.

The Brie Larson version of Captain Marvel is on her way via a movie set to begin its worldwide release the week of March 8, 2019.
